Slippery When Wet: GoPro Hero Reel

22nd December

So life has finally mellowed out a little after a busy quarter of film school at UC Santa Cruz. I am on my way up to Mt. Shasta for the holidays and stoked to have a little time off. GoPro has been a pinnacle sponsor in the progression of Shasta Boyz and after almost of 6 years working together our relationship continues to grow. I have watched this company expand from 3 people to a multi national corporation in just a half decade. Impeccable customer service and an unbeatable product, GoPro continues to push the progression action sports videography into 2012.
GoPro asked me to put together a 100% Hero Reel from Slippery When Wet to promote the original GoPro Hero. This segment boast footage from all over the world including California, Pacific Northwest, Mexico, and relief … Read More »

Feather Fest 2011

2nd October

Feather Fest is one of my favorite events in California. This year was my 5th year straight attending this event and it was larger than ever boasting over 400+ people and racers. This event has proven a success because of the help from American Whitewater, the whole race is roadside (so its spectator friendly), and a dedicated event staff committed to throwing a solid rager. This was the first race I have attended and not brought a video camera so sorry for the lack of video this time, but FYI, it did feel amazing to just sit back and enjoy the event. If you are feeling a need to check out this section though see our video page with multiple edits from previous years.

There is always a stacked race, with some of the fastest in Cali throwing … Read More »

So here is it the final 7th trailer to conclude the Slippery When Wet trailer phenomenon. It has been a sh#t load of work getting all these done but STOKED to be finished with them. Solo Middle Falls

3rd May

For the past few weeks rivers have been rising and dropping up here in Nor Cal. A gauge I always keep my eye on is the McCloud river about 25 mins outside Mt. Shasta. During the middle of last week I saw it was on the rise and tried to rally the troops. Unfortunately everyone has a life or something and can’t drop everything to come huck a perfect 50 footer, so I weighed my options. It was pretty clear the flows were going to peak thursday and I was pretty sure there wouldn’t be another chance for me to run it this year. With those facts in mind I rallied out with Callie and my father to check out the falls. When we arrived at Middle Falls thursday (April 28th) around 4:00pm it quickly felt different from my previous … Read More »

Tunnel of LOVE

10th December

We have been lucky enough to receive a lot of early precip up here in northern California and it has made for some decent winter boating thus far. On Sunday (12/5/10) I enjoyed a great solo day out with my girlfriend Callie, unfortunately the flows were marginal on Mears Creek. This run flows into the Upper Sacramento and is located about 20mins south of Mt. Shasta.

Lovin’ the Level Six Barrier Dry Suit.

That night it dumped rain for a solid 9 hours and the following morning I knew there would be water somewhere around the area. Here is a gauge for the Sac telling the story on the morning of Dec 6th…

As the Shasta Boyz are kinda spread out these days, Ryan down in SLO working as a nurse and Dev is here in Shasta working … Read More »

SHASTARAMA Downhill Race 2010

27th July

So my summer has consisted of working beyond full time raft guiding, working at Shasta Base Camp, and doing some editing work on the side. It has been hurting my kayaking but will be funding my trips to come.

Mt. Shasta has some of the best outdoor recreation in the state. It is one of the only places that has so many sports so close together. Kayaking, rafting, climbing, skiing, and of corse epic downhill mountain biking.

This next video shows Shasta Boyz filming the 2nd annual SHASTARAMA Downhill Race presented by Shasta Base Camp. Special thanks to Helmet Camera Central for all their donations for the raffle and Mt. Shasta Ski Park for the course and venue.

Here are some photos from the event courtesy of Callie Daniel.

Wet Dreams World Premier: Matt Thomas benefit

28th November

The premier was a huge success with good times had by all. A large showing and people traveling from far to catch a glimpse of our Wet Dreams. Check out some of these pictures by: Shaggy McLaughlin.

We kicked it off at dark and everyone had a great time mingling and getting to hang with our dear friend Matt, who made the barge down from Oregon to see the movie. The show was a benefit for him and we raised $1100 towards his recovery costs from admission cost, a silent auction, and a kick ass raffle.

Huge thanks to all the sponsors for sending gear (Gopro, HCC, Astral, Hippy Tree, Sanuk, Clear H2o Films, … Read More »
