So as usual life has been in the fast lane with summer school starting, my return from Outer Banks North Carolina with Subaru USA and now my leaving for X-Games on Thursday. Anyway I still have some great content coming out from these events and enjoy the little edit from my birthday!
The McCloud River is a special place nestled deep in northern California. This river contains some of the most substantial waterfalls right outside of my hometown of Mt. Shasta. The river literally is fed by Mt. Shasta’s snow melt and is one of the most pristine drainages in the north state. For my 24th birthday I wanted to get in the classic Shasta multi sport day and was stoked to get on some low water Upper Falls, a section on the Sacramento, and a solid 4,000 … Read More »
My life has been chaos as usual rolling into midterms but last weekend was the Brush Creek race outside Kernville, CA. The race went well with some fast racers laying it down and I ended up taking 6th place in the short boat division off the couch from pushin pencils. We did a showing of Slippery When Wet Saturday night after the race and overall it was an amazing weekend with all da homies remembering the life of our friend Randolph Green. Feather Fest is one of my favorite events in California. This year was my 5th year straight attending this event and it was larger than ever boasting over 400+ people and racers. This event has proven a success because of the help from American Whitewater, the whole race is roadside (so its spectator friendly), and a dedicated event staff committed to throwing a solid rager. This was the first race I have attended and not brought a video camera so sorry for the lack of video this time, but FYI, it did feel amazing to just sit back and enjoy the event. If you are feeling a need to check out this section though see our video page with multiple edits from previous years.
There is always a stacked race, with some of the fastest in Cali throwing … Read More »
So here is it the final 7th trailer to conclude the Slippery When Wet trailer phenomenon. It has been a sh#t load of work getting all these done but STOKED to be finished with them. It is getting down to the wire making the DVD cover/ menus and getting all the finishing touches on the film. In a perfect world I will have DVD’s buy early Aug but it just depends on how much can still go wrong. Moving forward, here are some screen shots from the Knight brothers trailer.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Life is going into overdrive for me right now trying to get everything ready for the film to go to press hopefully this month. It has been great seeing familiar faces as well as a bunch of the boys from SWW coming through to party it up for our Independence. Here is the 6th of 7 trailers featuring Cody Howard of Huckin Huge films. Check out some screen shots from the trailer.

For the past few weeks rivers have been rising and dropping up here in Nor Cal. A gauge I always keep my eye on is the McCloud river about 25 mins outside Mt. Shasta. During the middle of last week I saw it was on the rise and tried to rally the troops. Unfortunately everyone has a life or something and can’t drop everything to come huck a perfect 50 footer, so I weighed my options. It was pretty clear the flows were going to peak thursday and I was pretty sure there wouldn’t be another chance for me to run it this year. With those facts in mind I rallied out with Callie and my father to check out the falls. When we arrived at Middle Falls thursday (April 28th) around 4:00pm it quickly felt different from my previous … Read More »
With heavy snow pack throughout most of Cali, including up here in Siskiyou county, the Sacramento has been swollen most of the winter bringing in rare waves and hosting really fun water very close by. The Sacramento is one of the smaller drainages in California but holds water extremely well and can be run as high as it ever gets. Kyle Hull came through and was keen to get on some water so we got on the Sacramento @ 9500 cfs for a couple days with some Tunnel of Love, Mears Creek in there as well. Good times, enjoy the edit shot completely with the Go Pro HD Hero and look for the next Slippery When Wet trailer featuring Ben Stookesberry to drop in a week or so.
Here are a few photos from the couple days on the … Read More »
We have been lucky enough to receive a lot of early precip up here in northern California and it has made for some decent winter boating thus far. On Sunday (12/5/10) I enjoyed a great solo day out with my girlfriend Callie, unfortunately the flows were marginal on Mears Creek. This run flows into the Upper Sacramento and is located about 20mins south of Mt. Shasta.
Lovin’ the Level Six Barrier Dry Suit.
That night it dumped rain for a solid 9 hours and the following morning I knew there would be water somewhere around the area. Here is a gauge for the Sac telling the story on the morning of Dec 6th…

Its hard to understand the kayak industry unless you’re in it. We love to kayak but we also love to party, loud, long, and hard. The Feather Festival on the North Fork of the Feather river has continued to be a hub for great racing and EPIC partying. This year was no exception. Some of the top athletes on the west coast came and showed what they were made of.
There are a few events featured at the festival, time trials, Hangover-X, and SUP. This year Taylor Robertson cleaned house, 1st place in long boat, boater-x, and SUP. SAVAGE. Here are some photos of the event courtesy of Callie Daniel.
