Hey there, I am the film coordinator for the Banff Mountain Film Festival and saw some of your footage – you should enter something into our film competition! I am a 16 year old kayaker and I have kayaked to Lower Rogue at about 4,000cfs. I have been kayaking for two years and have a solid roll on both sides, I want to run my first waterfall and I was wondering if you knew a good first waterfal to run? let me know.
Hey Jonathan-
My first waterfall was lower falls on the McCloud and I think its a pretty friendly first drop. There is an undercut on the right at the base of the falls but its avoidable. The drop is about 8-10ft and you can just Google the name to see plenty of pictures. Make sure to bring proper safety with you and have a great time!
I am trying to put togeather I group of kayakers who would be willing to kayak from Lost Creek Resaviour to the ocean during spring break. It is 124 miles and would take between 6-8 days. Let me know if you know anyone who would be interested. thanks
